Jason Zachariah
Jason is the chief coordinator of the programs at NSM, and one of the school's primary keyboard trainers. As, Lillian's son, and Walter's grandson, Jason follows in a long, dedicated line of musicians, and has successfully used his initial foundations in Western classical piano to develop into one of Bangalore's most active and accomplished players, working in a wide range of contemporary styles. He currently plays with bands as musically diverse as Allegro Fudge, Thermal and a Quarter, Bhoomi, Caeser's Palace and Parousia, among others. He was also a member of erstwhile, but widely feted local outfits like technical-death metallers Extinct Reflections, and the prog-tinged rockers Black Earth. Jason's facility across genres, his theoretical and technical skills, as well as musical intelligence have enabled him to develop into a prolific composer with some of his current projects. He is one of the few certified Pro Tools operators in the country, and maintains a keen interest in audio recording and music technology... regularly assisting local bands with mixing, editing and mastering. Jason has also scored music for Anmol Vellani's stage productions of Exit the King and Woyzeck. He counts the Dire Straits, Abba, Queen, Deep Purple, The Beatles, Jordan Rudess, Mozart, Chopin and Bach and Hymns, among his formative influences.
