One of Bangalore's first call sessions bassists, Prakash backs his sound technique on the instrument with years of playing in diverse genres and musical contexts. From his early years with prog-rockers Cryptic, to his work with local jazz guru Gerad Machado's The Gerad Machado Network, and subsequent sessions stints with the likes of Amit Heri, Arathi Rao and violin maestros Kumaresh and Ganesh, Prakash has built a steady reputation for his craft. A seasoned live musician, he has held down the low end on a number of large stages like the Jazz Yatra in Pune and Mumbai, as well as gigs like the Bryan Adams concert in Bangalore, where he and Antaragini opened the show before a 35,000 strong audience. Prakash is equally adept in the studio, having worked on many Kannada and Telgu movie soundtracks and other commercial projects for radio and television. In addition to his performing credits, he has developed into a competent educator who has taught bass, classical guitar, piano and drums both privately and in institutions. Prakash currently plays and tours with Sony BMG India and Columbia records artists Karma 6, and is endorsed by Gibson Guitars, Sennheiser Mics and RotoSound Strings.
