Jason Zac takes a simple arpeggio and then makes it sound bluegrass and folk with a simple trick. And then a Melody can be added to the arpeggio pattern once your rhythm is in place. Play 1/8 notes in one hand and sneak in a few 1/16th notes with your other hand to create the magic used in a lot of folk and bluegrass songs. And you can use this with any chord progression you wish. This technique is influenced by the Banjo. An instrument popularly used with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Mumford and Sons and more. You can also listen to a couple of Jason's songs as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0D1WQ-iWnR4
